OK Gang we are down to CRUNCH TIME. There is only 2 weekends left before the Nat's and there is still a few projects that need to be done. I would like to say thanks to all that have been to the pond to help so far but now it is time for all to jump in and help. When we voted to hold the Nat's we did it as a club group and now it is time to jump in as a group and get these projects done. When done this event will be talked about for a long time so PLEASE jump in and be part of this excitement. We have made a reputation for ourselves across the country and across the waters so let's continue adding to this reputation. I ask that anyone who has some hand tools to please bring them with you when you come to work so we may have a couple of projects going on at the same time. This will work 2-fold, it will make things go quicker and make less work for all. We plan on starting around 9 - 9:30 Saturday morning. See everyone at the pond. Also I know some people need to still test, if we get these projects done than we will have open water time for those who need it.

Once again the Voodoo members stepped up to get things done. The CD Stand has been re-decked and a new front metal stud wall installed, grass has been cut, trash and old wood removal done, tables cleaned, buoys painted, electrical outlets checked. You guys rock, I am so proud of y'all we truly are one great group of people. That being said I hope that everyone has a great Easter and keep checking back here from time to time as we still have a few more projects to get done before the Nat's but man we are doing great.

Our Club meeting was a good one as usual and I would like to thank all that did attend. We were able to get some committes filled and a work list of things that will need to be done before the race. Please check our site as we will be posting workdays. If we do a little at a time then we will not be pushed in the last few days. Sometimes the work days will be Saturday & Sunday so PLEASE check our site to see when you will be able to help. We have a few big tasks but most can be done pretty easy if we have enough people.

Club Meeting

Hey Gang,
We will be having a meeting on Saturday February 24th around 10:00. at the pond and we would like as many club members to attend as possible as we will be discussing topics for the upcoming 2018 Nat's. We will also be passing on any and all information on the things that we have been handling for the race plus we will be looking for any input and help from the members for the items that we are still working on. Remember your ideas are very important to us and this event, so come out and be heard. Some of our committees have been hard at work but we still need everyone's help. We want to make this the best National's that anyone has been to and leave our pond with great memories. Mel will also be there to change out your keys. You must turn in the old one to receive your new one.

See y'all at the pond.

Well gang Saturday was a very productive day at the pond and I would like to thank Jesse, Nick, Randy, Mr. Al, Breck, Heavy D, and Quinn and his faithful tractor. That tractor sure helped us with saving back work and time. We will continue to have work days so that we can get stuff done before the Nationals. If we do a little at a time we will not be so pushed at the end. So remember we voted as a club to have these Nationals so lets work as a group to get these tasks done. There are many things going on in the background and to those people I want to say thanks to them and keep up the great work. Check our site to check for the next work time.

Also our club member Alberto had shoulder surgery and we wish him a fast and successful recovery.

Our end of year meeting and elections were great. We had 21 members and 3 guests in attendance. Our discussion of the 2018 Gas Nationals was very productive with a lot of member input. As stated at the meeting we have a very large task ahead of us for the event but with all of the excitement and positive talk at the meeting I feel as though this will be one of if no the best Nationals ever. We will be getting together in the near future to keep this ball rolling so please check our messages on the site. If you have any info you would like to share on this or any other subject this is the place to do it. Also for those who have volunteered for certain jobs and event gathering info please follow thru so we can continue to check items off of our to do list.

Yesterday was a long but productive day. We made a big dent in the grass but there is still a little more to be done. But a BIG THANKS to Jesse, Lance, Maggie, Mr. Al, Richard T., Randy, Breck, Bob Lee, and Jace Lee for his grass cutting experteese. Our parking lot is looking like a well groomed golf course. Hopefully with a little more work and a larger work group we can get it done next work day.

Work / Grass Day

Hey Gang we are getting close to finishing our grass problem and with the club race coming up next weekend we need one more good day at the pond to get the rest of the grass/duck weed from the pond. We are shooting for this Sunday Oct. 22 starting at 9 am. We need at least 5 people for this process and a truck that can be used to pull the skimmer up the shoreline to be emptied. If you can make it this Sunday please make a post so we can get a head count, because as I said without at least 5 people this process will not work. We can now see a light at the end of the grass tunnel so please try and help out as it would be nice to play next weekend without having to dodge the grass. Remember please post if you can make it.

Hey gang yesterday's pond clean up went great we probably got about 1/2 of the grass and duck weed removed from the pond if not more, but we still need to do some more before we can get the course set. I know that there are a couple of out of town races coming up but when everyone gets back we will schedule another work day to try and finish up this grass situation. With that said I would like to thank Ben, Randy, Breck, Bob, Heavy D, Jesse, Nick, Mel, Eric, Dustin for a long day of work.
With that being said I want to wish everyone who is traveling to the out of town races safe travels and good luck.

Just a reminder gang next weekend is the Dallas Fall race so if you are planning on going please get registered. Mel and I will be leaving on Thursday so we will try and get us a spot like last time so we can all be together. Give me a shout at 504-289-8870 when you get close to the pond and I will let you know where we are at hopefully I can get our regular spot by that big tree. Let's go see if we can bring home some more hardware. Looking forward to seeing some of our gang next week.

Hey gang the grass removal from the pond is going great, with the work from the Parish and a few days of some of our members giving their time the pond is looking almost like a raceable pond again. Some of our members have done a few work days on their own which is greatly appreciated, but with that said with a couple of really good full day work events we can talk about setting the course back, but this cannot be done until all of the grass is removed. Most of what is left is just pieces that were cut by the parish and our new lake mower and some duck weed. So this Saturday September 23rd starting at 9:00 am we will have an official club work day so we can get this problem taken care of and we can start working on setting our course back. We know that there are a couple of out of town races coming up plus our Spooktacular club race and our November Gas Nat's so we need to have everyone on deck to get this project finish so we can run our boats. Just like in the past when we had other projects and everyone pitched in it was easier and moved along quicker. This club is one of the best if not the best club in the country mostly because of our pride and friendship and the enjoyment of running our boats and this is why we bring the hardware home when we travel. So come on out Voodoo family and lend a hand.

See Y'all Saturday at the Pond. VOODOO STRONG / VOODOO PROUD

Hey gang just got a message from Bill Zuber in Huntsville asking about how many guys from Voodoo would maybe attending their race in October. If y'all could leave a count here on our website I will pass it on. I know that they are trying to get some gas boats and I think it would help us out for our November race. So if you can please give me a head count.
Thanks Roy W.
